A short title for a highly successful event in the royal location of the Villa Reale in Monza. This is the event “Smart Working Let’s Start” organized by COM.TEL, dedicated to TIM end customers, which was held on May 19 and has seen the participation of Technology Partners Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise and Plantronics.
Special guests attended the event. Starting from Fiorella Crespi, director of Smart Working Observatory of Politecnico di Milano, born in 2012 with the aim of studying the evolution in the way people work, serving as the reference point for the development of culture of innovation job models in optical Smart Working. Smart Working refers to “a new managerial philosophy based on the return to the people of flexibility and autonomy in the choice of space, time and instruments to be used in face of greater accountability on results”, said Crespi.
Thanks to the collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano, in September 2015 TIM has made a survey on Smart Working topic to measure the impact on work-life balance and productivity, which involved 14 thousand employees by allowing an initial mapping of the situation across Italy.
Andrea Iapichino, TIM manager for Smart Working, explained how in the TIM Smart Working is seen as an opportunity to innovate management policies, places, work tools “to create a collaboration platform that will increase the speed of processes and the effectiveness of those who work in the company “.
The first Smart Working experimentation in TIM started in October and December 2015 and involved about 1,000 employees, while the actual experimental phase was launched in February 2016 to about 9000 employees of the cities of Milan, Turin, Bologna, Rome and Palermo. The aim is to gradually extend the Smart Working to the other major Italian cities.
But the question arises: “Technology does not represent one of the most critical points of Smart Working topic?”. Milco Accornero, Segment Marketing Direct Channel of TIM, explained “how easy and inexpensive tools can enable organizational innovation”.
“TIM is able to meet the demands of flexible work, thanks to a suite of integrated IT solutions for Smart Working, realized by exploiting the potential of its cloud infrastructure and advanced network (broadband, ultra-broadband and LTE)”, added Francesco Baldereschi, Cloud Marketing Manager of TIM.
In particular Nuvola It Comunicazione Integrata by ALE is the Smart Working offering TIM addressed to medium and large Italian companies combining voice services with innovative solutions for unified communications, delivered in the cloud logic and managed in the data center TIM.
Stefano Liguori, Solutions Architect at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, explained that “due to NICI ALE solution every company will have converged workstations capable of integrating phone, PC and smartphone to provide advanced collaboration features such as VoIP, chat, instant messaging, video conferencing and document sharing”.
Users can be connected anywhere, anytime, and share information from any location via any device. With this background it becomes fundamental the use of Plantronics Smart devices: headphones and headsets that allow to talk and be multi-task with PC and smartphone applications.
Myriam Gottschalk, Partner Account Manager at Plantronics, an american company excellent example of Smart Working, announced that thanks to a “Smart technology the newest Plantronics devices allow you to optimize your calls and provide clear conversations regardless of the location or the presence of background noise” .”COM.TEL, as a Business Partner of TIM, ALE and Plantronics”, concluded Vincenzo Della Monica, Chief Technical Officer of COM.TEL, “is able to design the NICI ALE solution and Smart Plantronics supporting devices, providing to Customer’s many years of consulting experience in the ICT field for Smart Working implementation at the enterprise level”.
